Ho
Sin Sool Dojang is Korean for "the school of self-defense. This
reflects our school's primary focus.We
believe self - defense should be simple yet effective,
practical and street-oriented.
Our style is based on a system of Korean Karate called Tang Soo Do. The origins of Tang Soo Do are over 2000 years old. It is based on three different systems: Soo Bahk Do ( a Korean Karate which means Hand Fighting Method), Tae Kyun (Korean Karate involving only the feet and was used mostly by street fighters),and a Northern Chinese style of Kung Fu (where the style derives its soft, circular hand techniques ). The practice of Tang Soo Do includes forms (preplanned patterns), sparring, weapons (mostly the bo, jo, and bokken ), grappling, striking, and kicking ( including the famous jumping and spinning kicks the Korean styles are renowned for ). We also offer private lessons and Women's Self-Defense courses at an additional cost.
